M3 CL2 High Speed Steel Square Bars have cobalt molybdenum combinations that include 8% cobalt that delivers superior red-hardness and a better quantity of carbon and vanadium to balance wear resistance that increases hardness. It provides good weldability and higher resistance to abrasion and edge breakdown. Therefore, M3 high-speed steel is a great tool material and easy to shape and roll turning for rigorous cutting operations. Heat treating of M3 steel hardens the material, and as a result, tool life also increased. It is recommended to triple tempering. It shows medium machinability at annealed conditions.
